– A man dies in Edo protest over delay in the payment of salary arrears

A man identified as Peter Ayewoh died on Wednesday August 3, during a protest carried out by National Union Local Government Employees (NULGE) of the Edo state chapter.
The deceased was reported dead after he slumped during the protest.
Nigeria Tribune reports that the NULGE protested against delay in the payment of their salary arrears ranging between two and 18 months.
It was learnt that the protesters shutdown every activity in some parts of the state.
It was said that the body of the man has been taken to his village, Uromi in Benin, Edo state.
In a related development,some workers of the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) have been attacked by police officers in a protest
Information has it that five persons have been hospitalized after they were accosted by the policemen on Tuesday, July 21.
It was learnt that the police used tear gas on the protesting workers after they refused to move away from entrance of the hospital.
